Master Production Scheduler

The Master Production Scheduler participates in the S&OP process by creating a production plan aligned with the demand plan and inventory targets, maintains that plan in the ERP, and monitors/reports on performance to plan. The qualified candidate must work with the Director of Supply Chain and Inventory Performance to design and institutionalize the Master Production Scheduling process


* Works with the department leadership to design the master production scheduling process.
* Converts demand plan to planned production requirements.
* Evaluates labor and machine capacity vs requirements.
* Works with Operations to resolve short- and long-term labor and machine constraints to create the master production schedule.
* Maintains routing master data to match master production schedule/plan.
* Performs quarterly lot size and lead time optimization with Operations and Production Scheduling and updates master data in the ERP (lot sizing procedures, lead times, etc.)
* Enters and maintains master production schedule in the ERP (SAP MRPII/CRP)
* Recognizes component shortages, works with Purchasing to resolve, and adjust the master production schedule accordingly.
* Level loads production requirements in the ERP.
* Monitor actual vs planned output from the master production schedule.
* Manages finished goods inventory.
* Monitors inventory availability vs targets.
* Monitors and reports on excess inventory.
* Maintains MRP related material master data at distribution centers (lead time, lot sizing procedures, MRP type, rounding values, etc.)
* Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
* Performs additional duties as assigned.


* Minimum of 5 years in a related role: Master Production Scheduler, Buyer/Planner, Production Planner, Demand Planner.
* Advanced knowledge of supply chain management best practices in demand planning, supply planning, and inventory management.
* In depth experience utilizing MRP within an ERP or standalone planning software.
* Must have very strong analytical skills, experience creating complex ad hoc analyses, data cleansing experience, data mining experience, and experience designing dashboards.
* Must have strong verbal and written communication skills to organize, compile, and present data in written and/or verbal report format to various levels of Management throughout the organization.
* Must possess leadership skills and the ability to lead cross functional teams and/or projects effectively.
* Must serve as an effective backup to the Director of Supply Chain and Inventory Performance.
* Must be eligible to receive information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).


* Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or STEM field.
* APICS or other accredited Supply Chain certification.

* Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
* Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
* Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
* Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
* Emphasizes ethical leadership and decision-making to protect Pelican's brand and reputation.
* Establishes challenging, productive and achievable goals for direct reports; measure results by establishing checkpoints to track progress.
* Must be able to travel, nationally and internationally, as necessary.


* While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (ie stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (ie climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
* Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
