Description

Scala Developer - contract, inside of ir35, upto 720pd, 12 Month initial contract. Scala, Java 8-11, Linux, SQL, Multithreading, Investment Banking experience. Hybrid Model, Must be able to commute to London offices

Tier 1 Banking client require a hybrid Scala & Java developer, to work in their Insight system, who support the Trading desk as well as valuations. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate solid technical skills in particular around Scala, SQL and Linux. Candidates should be comfortable in proactively communicating with both IT and business staff across a range of seniority and be prepared to undertake limited business analysis of issues and requirements. This role is an opportunity to write functional Scala for a commercial trading and valuation system, as such good understanding of Scala concepts and functional programming will be required.

Key skills include

-Core Scala & Java development (Java8+)

-Strong experience using databases and writing SQL to investigate and resolve issues. Linux experience too

-Good knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals, including a computer science degree or similar

-Pricing and Analytics experience would be desirable as would C++ and Python experience too
