Position Summary: This position will develop new and edit existing CNC programs utilizing a CAD-CAM software package in the execution of medium to high complexity components. The programmer will be responsible for the design and execution of jobs through the department from process routing review, material specification, program design and creation, tool ordering, setup sheet creation, machine setup, and successful process operation. This position will be responsible for the quality conformance of assigned projects and provide technical support to the production supervisor and setup machinists.
Job Duties & Responsibilities: *Creation of CNC programs utilizing a CAM Software on 2 of the following types of equipment: multi axis mills, multi spindle/channel lathes, swiss, and wire edm machines for medium to high complexity machined components. *Determination of process operation steps in order to successfully machine the part to drawing/customer specifications. *Identifying and ordering material and tooling as required to complete jobs *Identifying and setting cutting parameters based on material type, tool engagement, and cutting tool/workholding conditions. *Development, design and manufacture of fixturing and workholding required to process job effectively through all operations. *Creation of detailed setup sheets/toollists and other process documentation for machinists out on the shop floor. *Creation and Editing of parametric (Macro) programming to improve machine functionality *Identify design features and make suggestions to design engineers to improve design for manufacturability for high volume production. *Follow all internal ISO regulated departments processes and procedures *Participates in and sustains 5S Standards. *Engages in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks. *Miscellaneous duties as assigned. *Must be able to travel infrequently
