Role Summary

The IT Application Administrator reports into the IT Application Manager and is responsible for maintaining software applications and associated systems for Venue Technology across all MSG Venues. Duties include documenting processes and protocols for software systems, monitoring server and computer upgrades, procurement, installation, configuration and maintenance/troubleshooting of Venue applications. The IT Application Administrator collaborates with stakeholders on business requirements and works with business partners on the development, implementation and operational maintenance of applications needed to improve business operations. The IT Application Administrator engages with business stakeholders, IT personnel and vendors. This position requires experience with 'Point of Sale' (POS) and integrated inventory systems for food, beverage and merchandise. Implementation of NFC payment types and integrations with other event critical systems is also an important requirement for this role. In addition, the IT Application Administrator will assist in upgrading, updating and maintaining MSG's Venue IPTV systems associated with Guest Wayfinding, Advertising, Broadcast, Marketing and Sales, Emergency Notifications and Digital Signage.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary

* Works within a Matrix organization to leverage, collaborate, coordinate and drive venue technology and system projects across all MSG venues
* Assists in maintaining and supporting technological revenue generating applications/systems for our food & beverage, merchandise and guest operations functions for MSG sporting and live entertainment events. Applications/Systems include (but are not limited to) Point of Sale (POS), ticketing, inventory, warehousing, guest services, cash counting, IPTV and reconciliation systems
* Collaborates in the implementation and support of all venue 3rd party technologies supporting the MSG sporting and live entertainment events
* Develops customer relationships across all venues to ensure that all support, projects and initiatives are communicated and managed to meet the business objectives
* Assists in maintaining up to date technology standards for payment card processing, ensuring PCI standards are met
* Contributes to generating support metrics for the Venue Technology team; analyzes application issues, identifies root causes and assists in the remediation of issues to maintain continuous improvement of our applications and systems
* Documents and coordinates the creation and distribution of analyses/reporting detailing operational & support issues across the venue portfolio of applications
* Partners with IT peer groups and business personnel to identify application/system operational failure root causes; puts measures in place to prevent future issues to ensure an environment of continuous improvement
* Work efforts will be complex and varied as they are required to maintain multiple systems and venues working nontraditional event specific hours


* Associate degree or higher in Technology/Business discipline
* Experience supporting a complex application portfolio focused on 'Point of Sale' (POS) in food/beverage environment
* Must have experience working in a retail environment utilizing NFC payment systems, preferably food and beverage and merchandise
* Must be able to work nontraditional hours and be accessible outside of business hours to provide application support
* Experience with maintaining an application portfolio using formalized metrics and data to drive decisions
* Exposure to PCI and data security standards
* Experience with complex software implementation projects
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with outstanding customer service
* Diverse problem solving and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues
* Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in an event related business
* Experience in operational process reengineering
* Experience in a Guest Relations
* Project Management certification (PMP)
* ITIL certification
* Experience with ServiceNow
* Experience with InfoGenesis, Eatec, Appetize, Catering (Caterease)


Candidates who have completed 60 credits of college-level coursework (representing 2 years), or have shown similar self-development through certifications, trade school coursework, etc. are preferred.
