Development Manager - C++ C# .NET Azure Python Git Docker

This leading tech firm is currently expanding and requires a Development Manager. You will be responsible for the build of core products, originally built in C++, for their client base and need an individual who can manage and grow the team effectively. The team is currently 10 developers but is expected to grow. Whilst you will need a technical background, ideally in C++ or C#, this is not a hands on role.

Responsibilities will include:

-Defining and owning the technical roadmap and product design

-Managing the current development team, not just from a project perspective but taking full management responsibility on all areas - mentoring, career development etc.

-Recruitment of new development and engineering staff.

-Working with other Managers to shape longer term technical strategy.

The successful candidate should have:

-A strong academic background and career to date showing progression

-Excellent technical skills and understanding of computer science fundamentals having worked in a hands on development capacity. Your previous development skills could be across any languages but there is a particular interest in those who have used C++. C# .NET.

-Excellent people management skills and prior experience running a development team. You must be able to understand how to increase development efficiencies and productivity, recruit additional staff, manage career progression and growth opportunities and enable success. It is imperative that you can create a supportive but productive environment for highly skilled engineers.

-Knowledge of Cloud products - ideally Azure although other Cloud environments such as AWS would work.

-Given that the role will be remote it is even more important to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

This represents an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to build out a development team for a leading tech company. The company is based in London, however this role will be fully remote. You will on occasion need to be able to travel to London for team/company meetings so being a commutable distance from London would help. You must, at the very least, currently be UK based.
