Software Developer




We are looking for an individual to join the ARINC team as a Software Developer. In this role, the candidate will perform software development in the Common Use Systems Engineering group, working under the direction of a Project Lead.Job responsibilities include software development, and maintenance for applications in the ARINC Common Use Product Suite. They must be comfortable working within an established architecture and framework.Candidate should be highly analytical and technology savvy with strong problem solving skills. They must be familiar with programming in Java using Eclipse as their main IDE. Programming skills must include web based application development, multi-threaded environments and both client and server side programming paradigms is required. Knowledge of SOAP and XML as they are used within SOA architectures is a must. Practical experience utilizing JAX-WS, Apache Velocity, SQL Server, Hibernate and C# would be a plus.

A successful candidate should be able to convey a working knowledge of the following:




Multi-threading applicationsAsynchronous processing of eventsHow a JAR file is builtHow a WAR file is builtWhat part SOAP plays in a SOA architectureThe main programming language for this position is Java; however, skills in both Java and Microsoft C# would be looked on very favorably.Candidates should also have a proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.The ability to pay close attention to detail, develop creative solutions for complex and abstract problems and concentrate for long periods is a must.Candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal and multi-tasking skills. The candidate must be able to articulate the pros and cons of any particular part of technical solution.Experience with airline business processes would be considered favorable.
