Pittsburgh City Paper is seeking a Digital Editorial Coordinator to help expand the reach, engagement, and impact of our journalism.

This position will work with the Editorial Department under the direction of the Editor in Chief, managing City Paper 's social media accounts and newsletters, providing analytics to support growth across all digital platforms including the social platforms and website, and assisting on content management.

This role requires a creative individual with strong journalistic instincts, solid writing skills, and a talent for finding unique ways to tell a story. Prior social media management and experience with analytics is a must.

Responsibilities:

Write and schedule all posts for City Paper 's social media platformsHelp to continue/create a consistent City Paper voice across all platforms that matches our editorial productAnalyze trends and identify opportunities for engagement across all social media platformsMonitor comments, respond professionally, and delete/block offensive users (with Editor in Chief's guidance) when neededOrganize and schedule City Paper 's weekly newslettersMonitor, analyze, and create reports on analytics for management to generate feedback and direction to retain and grow digital solutions for City Paper editorial products including social media, newsletters, and website trafficAssist Editor in Chief with content management on website as needed

Qualifications:

Experience with social media management requiredStrong samples of copywriting and editing skills requiredExperience with Hootsuite or other social media automation tools requiredFamiliarity with Google Analytics and/or social analytics requiredExperience with Mailchimp or other newsletter software preferredAbility to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team-oriented environmentPhotoshop experience a plusA love of local news and a familiarity with Pittsburgh City Paper a plus
