Requirements:

Client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in New York City office to assist the software team in development, testing, and other related tasks on our new ONSMART platform and associated hardware. An ideal candidate has a strong background in OOP and functional software architecture.

Responsibilities

Develop solutions at the core layers of the platform written in Ruby (Ruby on Rails as well as Sinatra and plain Ruby applications)Write PostgreSQL and MongoDB queriesUnderstand and enhance code using message queuing systems (AMQP/Rabbitmq, XMPP/Openfire, MQTT)Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedbackDesign, develop and execute automation scripts using various toolsLiaise with internal teams (e.g. developers, operations team, and product owners) to identify system requirementsInvestigate the root-causes of non-conforming softwareStay up-to-date with new technologies, test automation tools and strategies

Requirements

7+ years of software development experience of large-scale enterprise applicationsProven work experience in software development with strong knowledge of RubyProficiency with Ruby based frameworks (Rails, Sinatra)Experience with Java, Python is a strong plusStrong experience in distributed systems design and best practicesExperience working with Web and Mobile Technologies and Frameworks such as React, Ember, AngularStrong experience with NodeJSExperience working with Android and Linux is a strong plusStrong organization skills with ability to work independently as well as within a cross-functional teams settingExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience with following SDLC and industrys best practicesStrong experience with CI/CD and Orchestration Frameworks such as Jenkins, Spinnaker, and KubernetesExperience working in an Agile/Scrum development processExperience with performance and/or security testing is a plus

BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
