Ledgent Technology is seeking a Sr Software Engineering Manager to oversee Engineering talent and the technical strategy of a SaaS platform and its related applications.

This is full time position located in Weston, FL with hybrid opportunity.
Only local candidates will be considered

10% travel is required for offshore team management

What you will be doing:Quickly understand the present ecosystem, including system integrations, business rules, and operational management flowsLead and support a team of software engineers of diverse experience levels to build state-of-the-art components and featuresSupervise the engineering capacity of your team against delivery anticipationsDemonstrate strong partnerships with product owners, and gain an in-depth knowledge of the various types of end-users and their needsPreserve the highest delivery standards by creating robust, secure, and quality softwareDescribe and execute coding standards and development and deployment methodologies and processes, including team agreementsGuarantee that appropriate documentation is produced and supported where neededIn conjunction with the DevOps team, monitor and provide platform solidity across multiple production and non-production development settingsProactively prepare and organize work for the software engineering teamCreate, monitor, and report on engineering KPIs associated with team and individual performanceOperate closely with the leadership team to rapidly engineer solutions to support customersServe as a technical stakeholder, representing the office of the CTO in product planning and requirements development meetingsDrive release schedules for both production patches and regular releasesFunction with our Customer Service team to troubleshoot and resolve production mattersRecruit, interview, hire, and train top talent and create a high-performing team of engineers focused on continuous advancementPartake in and conduct code reviewsOwn the quality, scalability, security, and performance of applications, systems, and integrationsProvide continuous improvement to drive faster speed to market at a lower cost
What you should bring to the table:Degree in a related field10+ years prior software engineering management experience, with a minimum of 5 direct reports5+ years of experience in Agile software development, including SCRUM, Kanban, Scrumban, etc.5+ years knowledge in LAMP stack development and related frameworks3+ years experience with Angular (preferred) and/or React, including expertise with SPAs and associated frameworks.3+ years background with AWS3+ years knowledge with TDD and/or BDDSolid experience designing, developing, and architecting complex backend systemsRobust technical credentials, preferably with previous hands-on architectural or distributed systems development in a LAMP environmentCapability to succeed in a complex stakeholder environment.Background in delivering testable, high-quality software with many dependenciesUnderstanding of complex digital transformationsExperience with overseeing remote (offshore teams)Firm understanding of standard software engineering patterns
Bonus:Understanding with reservation systems and/or travel industry booking systemsKnowledge with Symfony framework and/or Laravel
