About our group:

The Test Systems Engineering group is a global team focused on the ongoing development of Seagate's Drive Test Systems. As part of Equipment Development Engineering, we ensure that our back-end drive test equipment development is aligned to the product roadmap, and operates as efficiently & securely as possible to deliver Seagate drives at the quality our customers demand, in the volumes that they need.

About the role - you will:

. Be part of a small team of software engineers that are responsible primarily to develop, optimize & maintain the control software that underpins the function of all Drive Test Equipment, in particular the Host/CM software
. Assist with the transition from a CentOS-6.10 platform to the latest Linux release from RedHat/Oracle
. Incorporate new features/functionality into Host/CM software that drives improved performance
. Provide ongoing support to End Users & Business Partners for Test System setup & configuration

About you:

. Good software development skills
. Proficiency in Python programming
. Possess knowledge of C++ / Java Development Experience
. Script development in Python as well as object-oriented Python
. Good communication & documentation skills, with the flexibility to engage with teams in other locations in joint development work across multiple timezones
. Understanding of Linux RPMs creating and installing
. Understanding of JIRA and GIT
. Experience writing end-user documentation

Your experience includes:

. Linux knowledgeable preferably CentOS / RHEL / Oracle
. General networking knowledge and familiarity with Linux networking tools
. Knowledgeable in LDAP concepts, user account management and authentication
. Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
. Puppet (system configuration management tool setting up a Puppet master and writing Puppet code)
. Knowledgeable in continuous integration tools
. Knowledgeable in building kickstart & installation


Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore. housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT station, with many employees taking mass-transportation to work. Ample free on-site parking is also available.
