Course Description
Throughout this Houdini and Maya training we'll discover how to build digital assets in Houdini and use them in Maya. We'll discover how to use VDB nodes and the Finite Element solver in separate situations. Once the tools are built, they will be used to create a simulation in Maya. We'll also focus on the capabilities and limitations of the Houdini Engine. Lastly, alembic caches will be used to create geometry caches for the simulations generated out of Maya. By the end of this Houdini and Maya training, you'll be well-versed in the workflow of building assets in Houdini and transferring them over to Maya for further refinement. Software required: Maya 2014, Houdini 13.585.
