Salesforce.com is best known as a web based Sales and Service application that touts itself as cloud based Software as a Service CRM. A more companies come to rely on it every day; there is a growing opportunity and need for traditional developers to understand how to develop on the platform. Not as visible is the metadata driven application development framework upon which the CRM features are built, and the ever growing collection of services provided by its Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
