Animation is a highly evolving field in modern media that is used in cartoons, films, video games, and interfaces with successful results. The entire media industry and how they approach their product creation has been altered tremendously with the animation techniques that are in use now. The animation technique you choose for your business project relies on the quality, esthetics, budget, style, and of course the story criteria.
Basic format
There are various animation techniques used now by businesses to enhance their products and brands. Basic animation is a simple form that incorporates only a single key-frame. The websites online depend largely on the animation for their designs. Basic animation is a fusion of various movements that are linked in the right manner to form a finely coordinated action sequence.
Cel Animation
This type of animation is the oldest form and can be seen in the old Disney films that were created long before films like Lion king were made. Crisp and clean shots with intricate details are the highlights of this animation type. You can control the drawing size, while creating them and the audience relate well to the characters than the other forms. The disadvantage of this format is it is time consuming as it involves several frames and is also expensive.
Stop Animation
In this technique, objects are made to move independently. This is accomplished by photographing different positions separately. This has various sub-types like:
- Clay animation or Claymation, where the characters present and the background scenery are created in clay.
- Puppet method of animation uses still puppets and is identical to the clay technique.
- Cut-out animation uses props, backgrounds, and characters that are flat and cut-out from cardboard or photographs.
- Pixilation technique is a complex format where live actors alter their movements for each frame. Multiple frames are made, while the actors pose, and the position is altered with each frame.
- Object animation uses the movements of objects, which are not drawn like dolls, toys, etc.
- Silhouette method is patterned on shadow play and uses characters that are seen as just black silhouettes.
Computer Animation
This is the most recently used technique and has both 3D and 2D animation. The hand drawn characters are made to appear realistic here. The 2D type uses PowerPoint and the flash technique and is similar to Cel method and uses a simplified scanning method. Visit following video to know more about various animation techniques.
