How to Recover Corrupted CorelDRAW x5 File: Resolving CDR File Errors

If you have CorelDRAW installed on your local machine so:
- You can double click on the file which you want to open in CorelDRAW.
- Open the software and You can drag & drop the file in CorelDRAW.

If you don’t have CorelDRAW then:
- Install the software then run the software & open the file.
There are many issues that occur while the user tries to open the CDR file in CorelDRAW. Following issues are:
- The issue occur when the software crashed while working & user doesn't save the file properly.
- The corruption happens when a user tries to save a large size of a file to a network.
- Earlier, when the user saves the file using older version & after that, the user tries to open it & it can’t open the corruption issue occur that time.

Steps for finding the file & then repair it:-
Open Run (Win + R) command on Windows OS

A temp window will open, now set the View option to Details

Now right click on window & sort by Date Modified

Find the .cdr file that is dated when the program has stopped working

This file would be the same that you are looking for

If you have the corrupted file or you found it using above steps that look like abcd.cdr.tmp. Now rename this file & try to open it in CorelDRAW.
