Micro computers are everywhere: they are installed into machines from automobiles to DVD players and manage quickly-expanding range of functions. Such controllers differ from regular computers in size and power of processing. Usually they are much smaller and have a memory, micro processor and interfaces: the number of schemes can be found in one chip. However, even being tiny, micro computers can easily operate complex machines with the help of their software.

Built-in systems play an important role for Siemens company because many of its products contain these micro computers: medical equipment, trains, turbines etc. Proved to be best in that, now the company focuses on vertical IT – IT for individual sectors. It builds these systems and offers its users extra great features. People mastered Internet a long time ago and now computers start doing the same. Now Internet of Things is in trend – so what is next?

Communication and machines

Internet of Things is also into smart nets. Soon such users of energy as heating and washing machines will keep communication with the network balancing demand and supply. Cars can also be able to do that for avoiding accidents and optimizing traffic flow. Thus, machines will have a talk with other machines in order to save people’s life.

Many industries show interest in Internet of Things because it promises to be a real revolution in manufacturing. Together with decentralized control it can create a high level of flexibility and make manufacturing profitable. In addition, micro controllers performing in factories could easily switch from one to another way of production without intervention of the central system of control which is very convenient.

Internet of services

In Internet of Services the global network of computers is being transformed into a bunch of software modules that can be united easily to create high quality services using standardized interfaces. Very soon it will be able to make our life much easier – autonomous services in the Internet will influence the intelligent electrical net of the future presented by software agents. They will independently buy and sell the amount of energy on consumers` behalf. Cost on such exchange is not going to depend exclusively on demand and supply but also consider forecasts and past experience.

Smart buildings

In the nearest future, the enormously large amount of information on the Internet will trigger the foundation of the new services such as buildings based on demand of daily electricity. Thy will depend on season, time of the day and weather forecasts. Agree, such future seems very tempting… doesn’t it?
